Watersprite filmfest nominates ‘The Recess’

Iranian short flick ‘The Recess’ has been nominated for an award at the Watersprite Student Film Festival in the UK.

In its 79th international presence, the film was nominated for the Wychwood Media Social Impact Award at the 13th edition of the event.

Written, produced and directed by Navid Nikkhah-Azad, ‘The Recess’ is a 12-minute film that tells the story of a 17-year-old school-girl who runs away from school to watch the football match of her favourite club.

The short flick’s cast list includes Mojan Kordi, Reyhaneh Nabeean, Niloufar Shokouhinia, and Ghazal Khalili.

‘The Recess’ has participated in more than 75 international festivals, including the Visioni Corte International Film Festival in Italy, the Sanfrancisco Frozan Film Festival in the US, the Johns Hopkins Film Festival in the US, the River International Film Festival in Italy, and the Vox Feminae Festival in Croatia.

“Watersprite is a quality event that attracts the brightest young aspiring creative talent and engages them in stimulating debate,” noted by the festival’s official website.

The 13th edition of Watersprite Filmfest is slated for March 04-06, 2022 in Cambridge University, England.
